Deweys 24 Hour Readathon Post 2: Hours 1-6

The readathon is underway! By the time I post this it'll be 6 hours in, so here are some updates.

Hour 1:
Discussion:
Q: What do you listen to when you read? Anything special you're listening to today?
A: I don't really listen to anything to be honest. I get distracted. I used to be able to listen to music while reading. Not so much anymore.

Books read:
None yet

Hour 2:
Discussion:
Q:Have you been to any literary destinations, for example, author's homes, cemetery tours, or reading vacations?
A: I've been to BEA (Book expo of America) but that's the closest I've ever been sadly. I think I might do some research on ones near me and start making that something to do!

Hour 3:
Discussion:
Q: What is the one book you are most excited to read during this readathon?
A: Hmm I'm pretty excited for all of them I think.. None more than the others.

Didn't take any this hour!

Books read:
Working on my second book, Fright Night by Maren Stoffels

Hour 4:
Discussion:
Q:What is your ideal reading spot? If you could create the most perfect spot for yourself for your reading, what would it be like?
A: Somewhere bright and comfy! With a big chair that I can move around in, because I get restless and need to adjust myself often. Somewhere surrounded by books, maybe with a small fridge, a fan, a furry friend.. But definitely somewhere with windows that I can open and look out.

Hour 5:
Discussion:
Q: How do you take breaks? Do you take them on a somewhat set schedule, like I do? Or do you just read until you need to stop, regardless of the clock?
A: I just take a break when I feel myself getting restless or if I start dozing. I did lay down for about 20 minutes earlier, but that's the only break I've actually taken. I will have to take more breaks when I go to work.

Books read:
Working on my third book, On a Scale of One to Ten by Ceylan Scott

Hour 6:
Discussion:
Q: What are you eating/drinking?
A: Well, the only things I've eaten today has been breakfast (Potato and cheese tacos) and lunch (Nachos). I had a couple grapes as well. As far as drink.. I've had a coffee and a redbull and lots of water. I'll have a huge monster when at work and then I'll have a coke and hopefully that'll keep me up most of the night.

Deweys 24 Hour Readathon Post 1: Introduction

It's readathon time! I will have 5 readathon posts total hopefully. I'm super duper excited about this and I cannot wait to see how many books I can actually finish. Generally I have an order for what books I read during the month and what order I read them in. I have been reading like crazy these last few weeks and have finished most of my TBR for April.
Sadly I do have to work today and tomorrow, but I'm going to try to listen to audio books while at work.

You can follow along on my instagram and my tiktok if you'd rather!

Introduction:
What fine part of the world are you reading from today?:
Texas!

Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?:
I think I'm equally excited for all of them TBH.

Which snacks are you most looking forward to?:
We have a few snacks we always include in readathon days. Nachos with homemade queso and salsa, peanut mnms, gardettos, and usually jalapeno poppers of some sort. I also have WAY too much caffeine I am planning to ingest. I kind of let John be in charge of snacks since I have to work, so we'll see how it goes.

Tell us a little something about yourself!:
Well, I'm a part time stay at home mom, part time froyo worker. I homeschool my son, I normally have two small businesses but I am taking a break from one of them for now. The other is a photography business. I am obsessed with horror movies and binge watching tv shows.

Here are the books I hope to finish this readathon:

About the Blogger: Two Truths and a Lie

About the Blogger is a post idea I came up with so people can get to know me.

I decided for my first About the Blogger I want to play two truths and a lie! I'll post three things about myself and you guys have to guess which you think is the lie.

1. I've never broken a bone
2. I've lived in two different states
3. I was homeschooled my entire childhood

So what do you think? Which is the lie? I'll post the answer next week!

Book Blogger Hop: Do you finish reading every book that you have slotted for a review?

What To Do:

1. Post an answer for the prompt.

2. Enter your Name/Nickname @ Blog Name and the direct URL to your post answering this week’s question linky list widget. Here's an example: Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer

3. Please visit other blogs on the list and leave a comment on their BBH post.

This week's prompt:
Do you finish reading every book that you have slotted for a review?

So... Long answer short, no. I do not. I try my hardest to, because if I was sent it specifically for review then I want to do that for the publisher/author who sent it. However, I also don't believe in reading and wasting time on something I just don't like. Life is too short and I have too many books to read to even try to finish them all. But I really do try my hardest.

Top Ten Tuesday: Skeletons... In my closet?

Top Ten is an original feature/weekly meme originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl that features a great bookish top ten every week.

This week's TTT is covers that have something in common. We got to pick what they had in common and I decided, because I am seriously craving spooky season, that I would pick covers with skeletons on the cover.
