Tag, You're It! Horror movie book tag

The zombie apocalypse: a book you would save when civilization ends?
Okay so we all know I'm one of those crazy prepper chicks... I have our bug out bags ready to go, we have our car stocked, we have clothes and shoes ready to toss on if we need to leave at a moments notice.
That being said... I also have my books ready in case I can fill a box (Yes I have a box ready to fill if needed) and escape with a few of my absolutely need to re-read in the future apocalypse books.
Here are some of the ones I would try to save... (For the sake of not have 150000 books on here, I'm only going to say my standalones. Don't come at me for not including Harry Potter or some other series that really should be saved)

The vampire: a book you would stake through the heart?
Literally hate this book with every ounce of my being.

The haunted house: a book that still haunts you?
Okay so... I was reading this book and really it was just... Meh.. at first. I was listening on audio and all the sudden there was these haunting mermaid screams and noises and just... Ugh. It still gives me the willies. So if you read it, listen on audio. Totally worth it.

The psychological thriller: a book with a twist you did not see coming?
I have read quite a few of these recently... Here are some of my favorite twisty books.

The creepy doll: a book that seems innocent but isn’t?
I struggled with this prompt, but I'm going to say one that isn't... "dirty" or what not. It is a really really deep book that makes you think. But on the outside it looks just like a quick fun read.

The monster: a book you could barely tackle/defeat?
This one was a huge disappointment because I love the show. I kept thinking it would get better so I kept going, but I wanted to DNF about 16 times.

The comedy-horror: a book with mixed genres that worked (or didn’t)?
Oh man comedy horror movies (and books) are some of my favorites! Grady Hendrix books are the perfect combination of horror and comedy.

The (cliched) teen horror: a book you found super cliched/stereotypical?
I might get lynched for this one...

The demonic possession: a book so gripping you needed an exorcist to escape it?

The science fiction: a precious book you would permanently sacrifice to aliens for the good of mankind?
I don't know... I can't think of any books I'd sacrifice to save humans. I don't like people...
Kidding, mostly! I would sacrifice any book to save those I love.

Finn's Noms: Beetroot Soup

Finn's Noms is a weekly feature where Finn picks recipes out of the (many) cookbooks we have, and then cooks them for us!

What book: Minecraft cookbook
What recipe: Beetroot Soup
Did we change anything: Yes! We added chickpeas for some extra protein
Why we chose that recipe: We wanted a healthier alternative to tomato soup.

Thoughts:
I liked it. It was better with the grilled cheese dipped inside. I used a cookbook that was pretty cool. First time using the Minecraft cookbook I got for Christmas. This recipe has a lot of tomatoes. It was my first time eating beets and I couldn't really taste them over the taste of the tomatoes. Next time I want to add more beets and more seasonings. Before we added the seasonings it didn't smell good, it smelled like dirt. Once we added the seasonings it smelled okay. The first half of the recipe was pretty fun to cook, I liked pouring the ingredients in the blender and blending it, the second half was mostly just stirring, so I got real bored real fast.

Would we change anything
Maybe less tomato, add more seasonings. My papi added red chili flakes and said it was really good.

Would we cook it again.
Yes

4/5 Yums

This was Finn's first time cooking. He chose the recipe book, the recipe, and he cooked it, mostly, by himself. We helped him open the cans and pour the blended ingredients in the pot. We love tomato soup and thought this would be a healthier alternative to what you get in a can. We also love grilled cheese with our tomato soup.
I didn't care much for the soup, it was decent when I ate it with my grilled cheese. But honestly it tasted very earthy by itself. I think if we add more spices, maybe something spicy like red pepper flakes, and even maybe some coconut milk it'll taste better. I've never had beets before and I don't think I'm much of a fan.
I'm really proud of Finn for picking the recipe and cooking it for everyone, though he did have help making the grilled cheeses.

Next week we will be making Hasperat from Star Trek along with some red health potions!

Where I've Been and Updates

This will just be a quick post because we have the end of the month coming up so I will do a full monthly recap then!
I've been working a lot, homeschooling, and trying to keep up with the house and I haven't really had the time to be posting, but I'm not working anymore after tomorrow and I'm hoping to get back into blogging, I've really missed it.
So expect to be seeing more from me, hopefully!
Hope you're all doing good, can't wait to interact with you all again.
