Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon: October 2025

Ahh this is the first readathon I've been able to participate in for a while! And I am STOKED! I won't be able to participate ALL day because we are going to the pumpkin patch this evening, but that's okay! I'm starting right at 7 AM and then we'll go to the pumpkin patch around 4 and stay until around 9 (I know, long pumpkin patch, but they have a lot of activities like a corn maze, petting zoo, and more!)
And then when we get home we'll continue the readathon if I'm not too exhausted! We plan on doing the corn maze twice, once when it's light and once when it's dark!

Introduction:
What fine part of the world are you reading from today?:
Texas!

Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?:
Oof, hmm... These two I think..

Which snacks are you most looking forward to?:
Oooh the snacks! I got so many snacks.
Sausage balls, homemade lemon cheesecake pudding, a bunch of pumpkin and fall snacks!
I'm most excited for the pudding, the dark chocolate orange macarons, and then I got stuff to make fancy coffee, so excited for that one.

Tell us a little something about yourself!:
I'm a stay at home homeschooling mama, I love to read (Obvs), take photos, play games, and watch movies (especially horror movies!)

Here are the books I hope to finish this readathon: (They're all pretty short)

Through My Eyes Photography: La Llorona

Through My Eyes Photography is my photography business that I officially started in 2020. I have been doing photography for 16 years now and have gotten pretty serious about it. These posts are going to be either my newest photos or some photos I want to highlight.

Funny story, when me and Amber were doing these photos we were under a bridge at a park near my house, there was a family crossing over the bridge and one of the little boys looked over and started shouting "La llorona! La llorona!" I think we really scared him! However, that made for the perfect title for this shoot.

And in case you don't know who La llorona is...
La Llorona, often translated as "The Weeping Woman," is a legendary figure in Latin American folklore.
The legend varies, but the most common version tells the story of a beautiful woman named Maria who drowns her children in a river out of grief and anger after her husband leaves her for another woman. Realizing the horror of her actions, she drowns herself as well.

According to the legend, Maria's spirit is condemned to wander the earth, weeping and searching for her lost children. She is often heard crying "¡Ay, mis hijos!" ("Oh, my children!") and is said to appear near bodies of water.
Parents sometimes use the story of La Llorona to scare children into behaving or to keep them away from dangerous places like rivers and lakes.

Valentine's Books I Really Want to Read This Month

When I think of Valentine's horror I think of twisted and dark love or stalkers or slashers. Kind of weird, but it's what I like.
Some of these books I've already read but I'd love to read again. But most of them I haven't read.
