Wee Reads: Uni the Unicorn by Amy Krouse Rosenthal

When Finn was born we loved to read to him and decided to start a special feature on our blog just for his books. Now we have Juniper to read to and thought we would revive the feature with her books.

Uni the Unicorn
Series: Uni the Unicorn
Genre: Children's
Format: Board book
Published: August 26th, 2014 by Random House Studio

What it's about
Uni is just like all the other unicorns . . . except for one she believes that little girls are REAL. This magical story by Amy Krouse Rosenthal (author of I Wish You More ) illuminates Uni’s not-so-fantastical dream and celebrates the sparkle of believing. This charming board book edition will allow the youngest readers to slide down glorious friendship rainbows alongside Uni and the little girl in whom she believes so very much. Be sure to look for the enchanting sequel, Uni the Unicorn and the Dream Come True, available as a hardcover picture book!
Mama Thinks:
Uni the Unicorn has been one of my favorite books since Finn was little. I even have a Uni the Unicorn plush. I love the story and the artwork. I think it's a beautiful book for a little human.

Wee Reads: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe Board Books by C.S. Lewis , Joey Chou (Illustrations)

When Finn was born we loved to read to him and decided to start a special feature on our blog just for his books. Now we have Juniper to read to and thought we would revive the feature with her books.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe Board Book by C.S. Lewis
Series: Standalone
Genre: Children's
Format: Board book
Published: February 2nd, 2021 by HarperFestival
What it's about
A gentle retelling of C.S. Lewis’s classic bestseller, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, perfect for storytime with the tiniest readers!

Now available for the first time ever as a board book, a whole new generation of readers will fall in love with The Chronicles of Narnia in this abridged retelling of C.S. Lewis’s most beloved classic. With simple text paired with bright illustrations by Joey Chou, this is a must-have board book for a young child’s first library and the perfect baby shower gift for parents to be.
Mama Thinks:
Chronicles of Narnia is one of our favorite series. I love that there's a board book as an introduction to the series. A lot of people were complaining in reviews about how simple it was, but it's meant for babies and as someone who has read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe a few times I think it's a perfect representation of the book.
The artwork is beautiful, it still gives the story, even if a little watered down. It's not meant to be the whole story.
