Wee Reads: Baby's Big World Yoga Jenny Burrill , Hilli Kushnir (Illustrator)

When Finn was born we loved to read to him and decided to start a special feature on our blog just for his books. Now we have Juniper to read to and thought we would revive the feature with her books.

Baby's Big World Yoga by Jenny Burrill and illustrated by Hilli Kushnir

Genre: Children's
Format: Board book
Published: March 3rd, 2020 by Starry Forest Books

What it's about
Listen. Feel. Stand Tall. Grow Steady. Hang loose. Say “HELLO” to your body.
Stand tall like a mountain.
Stretch high into the sky.
You are brave and strong.
You see the world in a different way.

Inspire your little ones to feel their best with yoga techniques perfectly calibrated for young learners. Simple prompts like, “Say ‘HELLO’ to your body” and “Curve like a cat” invite children to practice connecting with their bodies. Gentle guides including “Listen to the sounds you make” and “Feel your breath make a gentle breeze” encourage babies to practice stillness and introspection by listening to their breathing.

With sturdy pages filled with bright, friendly illustrations, this book encourages children to listen and tune in to their own movements. Your little yogi can even practice by themselves, well before they can read on their own!

From Starry Forest Books, Baby’s Big World introduces babies to big concepts―everything from rocket science to music―for the very first time.

Mama Thinks:
This is such a great first book if you're wanting to teach your littles about yoga. Not only does it teach about focusing and listening to your breathing but also about different poses, in a fun way that kids will understand, and about being strong and being who you are.
