I have been waiting for this ALL YEAR. I love the Spring and Summer readtathons, but it's not the same as the fall one. The fall one I get so excited because it's usually cool, you can definitely feel the fall in the air. It's spooky and just perfect for a readathon.
I even rescheduled my daughter's birthday party so it wasn't on the same day. Well that wasn't the only reason I did, but it was a big reason.
If you don't know what Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon is, it's exactly what it sounds like. You read for 24 hours straight. You can read the whole time, or not. It's a fun time.
Introduction:
What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I'm in Texas!
Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
Hmmmmmm. The Door to 1998 or It Came From the Woods.. Or Dead Fake.. Hmm.
Tell us a little something about yourself!
I am a stay at home homeschool mama to three kiddos. I have one biological child (13), 2 angel babies, and 2 adopted daughters (2 and 3)
I'm a photographer, gardener, blogger, gamer, Christian, geek.
How many Dewey's Readathons have you participated in?
A lot. I've been doing it off and on since like 2011 or so.
If this is not your first Dewey's Readathon, what are your favorite things from past Dewey's readathons? Are you trying anything new or different this time?
I always loved the past games. Some that I loved:
Book your face- Post a photo of a book lined up with your face!
Like this:
Also drawing book covers from memory was a lot of fun, stacking books to make the titles into poems, color cover challenge (Posting books what are only certain colors), random page (Pick a random page in a random book and post it), pet parade (Show off your pets), madlibs are always fun!, shelfies, strange reading poses challenge (See what the weirdest position is that you can read in and post a pic), book staging challenge (Where you stage a book and take a photo), cover escape (Post a cover of a book that you'd love to escape into), top ten readathon favs (Things you love about the readathon)
I could honestly keep going on and on! I remember in years past we had so many things to post about!
I'm not really doing anything different this time except taking the girls to TotBox!
What are your goals, and what are you looking forward to during this Readathon?
My goal is to read for 24 hours, obviously. I'd love to read all 18 books but honestly I'd settle for like.. 15? Something like that.
I'm looking forward to reading, snacking, and posting.
What are you looking forward to eating and drinking during this Readathon?
I'm most excited about all my seasonal coffee drinks and the apple pie french toast casserole
Are you sticking to our official Readathon times or adjusting for your schedule/preferences/etc.?
I will, as usual, probably start Friday night and I will technically continue into Sunday if I am able.
