National Park Themed Family Movies

The month of July's theme is National Parks and forests! So here are some National Park themed movies to watch with your kiddos!





Wild America (1997)
Rating: PG

Synopsis: Three brothers crisscross America filming wildlife for an exciting documentary adventure.









Yogi Bear (2010)
Rating: PG

Synopsis: Yogi and Boo‑Boo team with Ranger Smith to save Jellystone Park from a greedy developer.









RV (2006)
Rating: PG

Synopsis: A family road trip in an RV through the Rockies leads to comedic chaos and bonding moments.









The Great Outdoors (1988)
Rating: PG‑13 (This has a few sexual innuendoes and quite a bit of cussing so watch by yourself before with your kids)
Where to watch: Available to rent/buy on major platforms. (Not available free at the moment)
Synopsis: A lakeside family vacation turns competitive and chaotic, starring John Candy and Dan Aykroyd.






The Call of the Wild (2020)

Synopsis: A CGI/live‑action adaptation of Jack London’s novel, following Buck the sled dog in the Alaskan wilderness.








Brother Bear (2003)

Synopsis: Kenai, turned into a bear by the Great Spirits, learns empathy and brotherhood while traveling with a bear cub.








Open Season (2006)

Synopsis: Domesticated bear Boog and deer Elliot face the wild—and each other—as hunting season begins.






FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992)

Synopsis: A fairy and a human unite to stop pollution from destroying their magical rainforest world.









Balto (1995)
